The Marjorie Taylor Greene Case: What the GOP is Willing to Defend

The Republican members of the House of Representatives has risen in defense of Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to prevent the removal of her from its budget and education committees as proposed by the Democratic members of the House.  The Republican Conference gave her a standing ovation the night before the vote on her committee removal.  The GOP supported tRump's racist, sexist, offensive, and violent statements for over four years.  However, they did take action in recent times against one of their members.    

In January 2019, Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who was supported by tRump, was stripped of all his committee assignments because of his racist statements.  King had a history of making racist remarks, including the statement that led to his removal from committees:  "White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization -- how did that language become offensive?"

The GOP claimed that the Democrats were violating the custom of allowing each party to discipline its own members.  The problem is that the GOP refused to act.  The Democrats felt compelled to act and not remain silent.  This is why: 

On November 3, 2020, Greene became the first member of Congress who openly supported QAnon.  She was strongly endorsed by tRump who called her a "star" and a "winner."

QAnon is a right-wing conspiracy theory that claims that tRump is fighting to save America from a cabal of Satan worshipping child sex-traffickers in "the deep state."  It was started in 2017 by an anonymous person claiming to be a high-level government insider.  The FBI called QAnon believers a domestic terrorism threat.  They have committed many acts of violence.

In 2017, Greene said that Q was a pro-tRump patriot.  She also suggested that the mass shooting of 58 people in Las Vegas might have been staged in order to convince people to support anti-gun legislation.  She also said she believed that the shooter did not plan the shooting alone.  

In 2018, She agreed with a Facebook comment claiming that the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting was a "false flag operation" created to justify gun control.  17 people were killed in this tragic mass murder.  She also liked a Facebook post questioning whether the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, was real.

She posted on YouTube a video of herself harassing, David Hogg, a Parkland school shooting survivor and gun-control activist.  She called the 18-year-old a "coward" and falsely claimed that his fight for gun control was financed by billionaire George Soros (an element of QAnon conspiracy theory).  She had prior to this incident labeled the young man "#littleHitler."

She also claimed that the devastating 2018 California Camp Fire (the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history) was deliberately set by a bank controlled by the Rothschild family (who are Jewish), the utility company PG&E, and then-Gov. Jerry Brown with space "lasers or blue beams of light" to make way for a high-speed rail project.  This wildfire killed 85 people.  The fire was caused by a poorly maintained electrical power grid.

In April 2018, she responded to a Facebook user desiring to hang Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama by saying, "Stage is being set.  Players are being put in place.  We must be patient.  This must be done perfectly or liberal judges would let them off."

In May 2018, Greene liked and supported a Facebook comment that falsely claimed that Hillary Clinton and a top aide had been seen in a video cutting off a child's face!  She has even accused the Clinton's of crashing JFK, Jr.'s airplane!

In November  2018, she released a video in which she questioned whether a plane actually flew into the Pentagon during the 9/11 terrorist attack.  She also liked a 2018 Facebook comment that falsely claimed that 9/11 was "done by our own Gov."  Greene responded, "That is all true."

In January 2019, she liked a Facebook comment that said, "a bullet to the head would be quicker" in reference to removing Nancy Pelosi from office.  She also started a petition to remove Pelosi from office for committing crimes of treason and even suggested that Pelosi should be executed.  Green also did a Facebook live video from inside Pelosi's office in which she said that Pelosi "will suffer death or she'll be in prison" for her "treason."

In February 2019, Greene appeared in a video questioning the legitimacy of two Muslim women in Congress, Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) because they were sworn in on the Quran instead of the Bible.  She said that they should go back to the Middle East.  Tlaib is a native of Detroit and Omar became a citizen 5 years after coming the U.S. from Somalia at the age of 12.  

In Greene's many videos, she made many racist and anti-Semitic statements.  She said that black people "are held slaves to the Democratic Party."  She called George Soros a Nazi.  He is actually a Democratic megadonor who happens to be Jewish.  

She promoted the conspiracy theory that the 2017 Charlottesville, Virginia white supremacist rally that led to a counter protestor's death was an "inside job."  She has also condoned the conspiracy theory that Democrats are running a human-trafficking and pedophilia ring called "Pizzagate."

Greene called Black Lives Matter activists "idiots" and compared them to the neo-Nazis and Ku Klux Klan who marched in Charlottesville, Virginia.  She said that she would feel "proud" to see a Confederate monument if she were black because it would symbolize the progress that has been made since the Civil War.  She also denied the existence of racial disparities by saying, "Guess what?  Slavery is over.  Black people have equal rights."  She said that the disproportionate rate of unemployment among people of color was due to "bad choices" and being "lazy" but "not white people." Greene asserted that "the most mistreated group of people in the United States today are white males" due to the use of affirmative action for black women in colleges.

Greene described Islamic nations under Sharia law as allowing men to have sex with "little boys, little girls, multiple women" and "marry their sisters" and "their cousins."  She said that the 2018 midterm elections brought in "an Islamic invasion of our government."  She further said that "anyone that is a Muslim that believes in Sharia law does not belong in our government."

In August 2020 during an interview, she defended herself for saying that George Soros turned over his own people to the Nazis to be "burned in ovens."  She also confirmed her belief in the QAnon conspiracy of the "deep state."

Over the summer of 2020, she campaigned with protection from the Georgia 3 Percent Martyrs, a militia group that has ties to other far-right groups and neo-Nazis who advocate for Georgia's secession from the Union following the arrests of insurrectionists who participated in the Capitol riot.

In 2021 as a member of Congress, Greene objected to the certification of the presidential election in support of the big election lie that there was voter fraud and that tRump won the election.  She was temporarily banned from Twitter for spreading false election fraud claims.

By mid-January 2021, Cori Bush decided to move her office away from Greene's.  She said that Greene had repeatedly "threatened" and "berated" her and her staff.  Bush said that Greene "came up from behind me ranting loudly into her phone while not wearing a mask."  This was the day after the announcement that some Democrats had contracted COVID-19 after being in hiding with Republicans who refused to wear a mask during the attack on the Capitol. 

On January 21, 2021, Greene announced that she had fulfilled her vow.  She had introduced articles of impeachment against Joe Biden.  This was the day after his inauguration!

While Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) rescinded his endorsement of Greene and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has refrained from making public comments about his endorsement, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) (a pit bull for tRump) continues to strongly endorse her.

During his speech to remove Greene from committee assignments, House Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) passionately walked a photo across the House floor displaying a Facebook post of Greene holding an AR-15 next to a picture of minority Congress women that Greene had titled "SQUAD'S WORST NIGHTMARE."  Hoyer brilliantly and compassionately pointed out that these women were not "a squad" but were "people" who did not deserve to be threatened in this way for simply fighting for the rights of the American people.

She did not apologize for the specific, numerous, offensive statements and behaviors she committed.  She, instead, defended herself by blaming the media for misguiding her and by saying that her controversial statements were made before she was elected.  She even had the nerve to ask for thousands of dollars in donations to defend herself as if she were the victim of a conspiracy!

The House vote resulted in 219 votes by Democrats and 11 votes by Republicans to remove her from key committees.  There were no Democratic votes against her removal.  199 Republicans voted against her removal.  Two Democrats and one Republican did not vote.

Greene's response to losing her committee positions was to be defiant, to seek sympathy, to pat herself on the back for her non-apology, and to blame others for her situation.  She also declared the Republican Party to belong to tRump.

1.  Never concede the election.  Continue to claim voter fraud no matter what.  This helps to ensure that his followers continue to believe the big election lie.  As long as there are Congressional leaders and right-wing media backing the lie, it will continue to be legitimate in the minds of his supporters.

2.  Wear the courts down by filing lawsuits until the cows come home.  tRump filed and lost 86 lawsuits in an attempt to discredit the presidential election.  Continuing the court battle (despite the fact that he loses), helps to continue the illusion that there is something for which to fight.  He simply attributes his losses to the "unfairness" of the courts.  This tactic also helps to discourage others from challenging him in court.  Few people want to be tied up in endless court battles.

3.  Convince Republican Congress people to vote against his second impeachment by using threats against them and their families, by promising not to "primary" them when they are up for reelection, and by promising endorsements and votes.  This show of solidarity helps to promote and reinforce the idea that tRump still has substantial credibility and power over Washington.

4.  Continuously and endlessly raise money with every scam possible.  It takes a lot of money to keep the lie going.  It also takes a lot of money to live like tRump and his family do.  While big money donors pulled back from tRump, members of his base continue to respond to his call for money, much of which he pockets for himself.

5.  Make EVERYONE sign a nondisclosure agreement.  If loyal enablers get convicted, pardon them in order to keep their mouths shut about unethical and criminal behavior.  With tRump, nondisclosure is an absolute requirement. That's why many of his illicit dealings have been kept in the dark.

6.  Cancel Republicans who threaten the big election lie by telling the truth.  tRump thugs at the Capitol were out to kill Vice President Pence and the members of Congress they believed stole the election from tRump.  Republicans across the country are publicly condemning and officially censuring their fellow Republicans for standing up for the Constitution and against tRump.  This behavior magnifies the intimidation and pressure felt by Republicans who would otherwise speak the truth and discredit the big election lie.  tRump has condemned and even fired his own officials for simply doing their jobs and telling the truth.  This includes Christopher Krebs, Director of Election Security, who truthfully called the 2020 election "the most secure in American history."  Matt Gaetz (R-Fl) even flew to Wyoming to hold a rally to cancel Liz Cheney, House Republican Conference Chair, for voting for impeachment!

7.  Keep far right-wing factions like the QAnon supporters engaged by using dog whistles whenever possible.   The QAnon cult believe that tRump is saving the world from a global child sex-trafficking cabal.  These believers look forward to "the storm" when thousands of cabal members will be arrested and executed.  They listen for coded messages about the battle, liberation, revolution, patriots, 1776, and trusting the plan.  Their potential targets include Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa.  They are anti-semitic, anti-muslim, anti-immigrant, anti-minority, white supremacist, and white nationalist.  They have a bruised sense of entitlement and struggle to be patient as they anxiously await their opportunity to be called into violent action in order to take back what has been stolen from them (Sound familiar?).  They have a very clear idea of what "Make America Great Again" means, and it does not include those who do not look like them.  (But, it does include space aliens.)  These are the most diehard tRump fans who will never stop believing in him.  He needs them to rally the less dedicated followers.

This is the reason why tRump claimed during his 2020 campaign that, if Biden won, it would mean the ending of our country, the tearing down of the Washington Monument, the slaughtering of newborn babies, and the murdering of tRump supporters and their families.  It is also why tRump used the word "fight" at least 20 times while only using the word peaceful once in his speech of insurrection on January 6, 2021.

By keeping anti-maskers feeling justified in their conspiracy theories against the legitimacy of the coronavirus, tRump can continue to bask in their admiration at super spreader events designed to illustrate his popularity and raise money, supposedly for his campaign.  That's why he can never admit that the virus is deadly or that masks are necessary.  tRump forced his doctors to hide the fact that his lungs had a severe infection.  He ripped off his mask for the cameras and went inside the White House to risk infecting everyone around him.  He then immediately planned more rallies.  Continuing to deny the legitimacy and seriousness of the pandemic meant that lockdowns were unnecessary and that his economic indicators could improve.

8.  Use voter suppression whenever possible.  Like tRump, Republicans fear mail-in voting and anything else that makes it easier for people to cast their votes.  (Despite the fact that tRump and other Republicans routinely cast their ballots by mail.)  They know that they are politically in the minority.  They know that the less wealthy people who have many life pressures and trouble getting away from their jobs are less likely to vote when restrictions make it more difficult.  THAT is why they pile on the voter registration and voting restrictions.  They hide behind the claim that they are trying to ensure fair and safe elections.  The elections already ARE fair and safe.  They just want to make sure fewer people vote!

9. Change election laws to pave the way for the next coup.  tRump, Lindsey Graham, and their supporters tried to get Secretaries of State to throw out their citizens' votes illegally.  They especially targeted Georgia.  That failed.  Now they want to make it LEGAL to do so.  The Arizona GOP has a bill to allow its state legislature to legally overturn future presidential elections, acting against the will of its people.

TO CREATE LAWS TO BLATANTLY THROW OUT LEGAL BALLOTS IS ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE:  NOT THE FACT THAT tRUMP WOULD WANT THEM TO DO IT...BUT, THAT LAWMAKERS ACTUALLY WOULD AGREE TO DO IT!

10.  Organize a militia to perform the coup.  Just as when tRump said, "Russia, if you're listening" release the emails, his words were not idle nor harmless when he said, "stand back and stand by" to the Proud Boys.  They were listening and waiting with bated breath.  The insurrectionist attack on the Capitol was no accident.  It was planned.

The day before the attack, the FBI warned of violent extremists planning to go to Washington to carry out war.  They shared a map of tunnels under the Capitol complex.  They had designated rally points in South Carolina, Kentucky, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.  They were heading to Washington to fight against "unlawful lockdowns."  Their call for violence included such statements as:  "Be ready to fight.  Congress needs to hear glass breaking, doors being kicked in, and blood from their BLM and Pantifa slave soldiers being spilled.  Get violent.  Stop calling this a march, or rally, or a protest.  Go there ready for war.  We get our President or we die.  NOTHING else will achieve this goal."  They designated people to stand ready to provide supplies, water, medical aid, and evacuation assistance.  (Unfortunately, this intelligence was ignored due, at least in part, to concerns over freedom of speech!)  They planted pipe bombs at the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee headquarters the night before.  

They dehumanized Antifa members, calling them "maggots."  They referred to themselves with words such as "rebel" and "minuteman."  They believed the election was stolen and were prepared to fight for their president.  They included the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers.  They used a walkie-talkie app to keep in touch.  One woman organizer said that if Biden is sworn in, "our way of life as we know it is over.  Our Republic would be over.  Then it is our duty as Americans to fight, kill and die for our rights....If Biden get the steal, none of us have a chance in my mind.  We already have our necks in the noose.  They just haven't kicked the chair yet."  The potential for further violence continues.

11.  Organize a caravan of women to tour the country spreading the big election lie and calling for violent action.  Women for America First was founded by tRump followers, supported by tRump, and actually obtained the permit for the rally that led to the insurrection on the Capitoal.  In late November, they made a 20-city cross-country bus tour designed to paint America with a brush of election lies, conspiracies, hate, fear, and violence before the insurrection on January 6th.  This tour was well-funded and tweeted by tRump.  It included some government officials and was watched by millions on livestreams online.  

A county commissioner in North Carolina on December 2nd said at a Women for America First rally "We'd solve every problem in this country if on the 4th of July every conservative went out and shot one liberal."  On December 6th in Madison, Wisconsin, a chiropractor told a crowd, "When they come for my kids with this nontested COVID vaccine I'm gonna give them an insurance policy courtesy of a Glock on their forehead."  On December 9th, at a rally in Charleston, the Republican Secretary of State of West Virginia said that Congress must determine the election due to the existence of clear "irregularities."  He said that he was asked by state GOP leaders to attend the event.  On January 3rd, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, a New Mexico county commissioner and founder of Cowboys for Trump said to a rally, "If we allow this election to be stolen from us, we will become a third world country overnight."  

Rally members accused globalists and the Chinese of stealing the election.  They encouraged people to get armed, study tactics, and spend time on the firing range.  On January 7th, the founder of the Cowboys for Trump and a frequent speaker on the bus tour said, "We could have a 2nd Amendment rally on those same steps that we had that rally yesterday.  You know, and if we do, then it's gonna be a sad day, because there's gonna be blood running out of that building."  Prior to that, in May, he had said in a video, "the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat."  tRump retweeted the video.  The Cowboys leader also spent a lot of his time on stage spreading lies about covid, calling it "a manipulated hoax."  He also falsely minimized the death toll and called for martial law.

Women for America First was cofounded by a former tea party activist and her daughter.  They created the Stop the Steal Facebook group.  Facebook has now removed the 365,000 member group.  It is a registered nonprofit corporation and has received $25,000 from a pro-tRump dark money group called America First Policies.  On January 6th, tRump spoke from the rally stage of Women for America First.

12.  Organize honors, awards, and accolades for tRump in order to legitimize and normalize his presidency.  AFTER tRump was impeached for inciting an insurrection at the United States Capitol, his SECOND impeachment, two Ohio Republican State Representatives (Jon Cross and Reggie Stoltzfus) proposed a bill to make June 14th "President Donald J. Trump Day".  They wrote that tRump has "against great odds, accomplished many things that have led our nation to unparalleled prosperity."  They called tRump "one of the greatest presidents in American history."  June 14th is also national Flag Day which honors the American Flag.  This is the same flag that insurrectionist thugs replaced with tRump flags.  Fortunately, a California Democratic Representative, Lydia Sanchez, has introduced legislation to prevent federal money from being used to commemorate any president who has been impeached twice by the House of Representatives.  Remember tRump's drooling over the Nobel Peace Prize and the honor of throwing the first pitch at Yankee Stadium?  He even made up a "Bay of Pigs Award" for himself to influence Latino voters in his favor!

13.  Convince prominent Republicans to stand against tRump's impeachment.  Only 10 Republicans in the House supported impeachment.  Only 5 Senators voted to hold the impeachment trial.  Matt Gaetz, the Republican Representative from Florida and a fanatical tRump defender has even offered to resign his House seat to become tRump's impeachment lawyer!  After previously saying that tRump holds some responsibility for the insurrection, Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy met with tRump in Florida to strategize about upcoming elections!

Doublespeak Has Consequences: Why ALL Republicans Who Incited the Insurrection Must Be Punished

Doublespeak is the deliberate changing, distorting, and even reversing the meaning of words to hide their true intent.  It is a tool used as a means to mislead the listener in order to achieve the end goal of the speaker.  In other words, it is purposeful, crafty, and diabolical lying.  In George Orwell's 1984, he demonstrated how this sort of weapon could destroy society by eliminating free speech and open-minded thinking.  In the restricted and constrained society that Orwell created, the following quotes applied.  The concepts they convey bear a strong resemblance to what we are witnessing in the Republican Party today.

     "Big Brother is Watching You."

Republicans have sat back and watched silently, nodded in agreement, or actively endorsed the dishonest, criminal, power-hungry, illegitimate, seditious, and traitorous actions and speech of Donald tRump.  They have helped him to fan the flames that threaten to burn down our democracy by agreeing with his claims, repeating his lies, filing frivolous lawsuits, and condemning those who told the truth.  They have also been complicit in the threats he and his thugs have issued to anyone who is more loyal to the Constitution, our nation's laws, or the power of truth and decency than he or she is to tRump.  They have essentially used the power of their office to provide tRump with a false legitimacy rather than to fight for the best interest of their constituents.

tRump followers have made personal threats to his opponents and their families.  These domestic terrorists have plotted, planned, and performed sieges, hostage takings, and even murders.  They have armed themselves with military weapons, made and planted bombs, and constructed gallows and nooses.  They have even desecrated our nation's Capitol with violence, destruction, and human waste while dishonoring our nation's flag by using it as a weapon to beat police officers to death and then replacing it with the flag of slavery.  (Note that these same people would doubtlessly call for severe punishment for anyone who dared to peacefully and respectfully kneel before the flag in protest.)

Republicans allowed tRump to say that two plus two make five for his entire presidency.  The greatest example of this is the Big Election Lie.  Saying that tRump won the election is like saying that day is night.  It is a lie and Republicans know it.  Yet, some of them continue to say it even after the inauguration of President Joe Biden!  Their followers look at them in their trusted high positions of power and say to themselves, "Surely they would not risk their reputations by promoting a boldfaced lie!"  (They should think again.)

Nearly every single Republican refuses to support impeaching the former president of the United States for inciting an insurrection against our nation and our entire way of life!  If treason does not warrant impeachment, what does?  Furthermore, if encouraging the death of hundreds of thousands of Americans by "downplaying" the coronavirus does not demand impeachment, what does?  If dividing this country with hateful, sexist, racist, homophobic, anti-military, anti-disabled, white supremacist rhetoric does not cry out for impeachment, what does?  If inspiring fascist thugs to threaten, beat, and murder people who disagree with him does not prove the need for impeachment, what does?  If using our national budget as his own personal pocketful of mad money does not provide the case for impeachment, what does?  Finally, if making the entire world wonder how the United State of America became a country led by a fascist, democracy hating, power hungry, dictator does not provide a reason for impeachment, what does?  This guy literally almost caused the death of every single Democrat and Republican in Congress and some members of their families and yet Republicans say to just let it go!

Republicans have learned from tRump that, if they just lie long enough, they can redesign the facts to appear however they want them to be.  Their motto is never give in...just double down.  It's like an abusive husband who tells his wife that she did not see him doing what she caught him doing and that everything is her fault.  It's just their way of getting out of a messy situation.

If they can claim that everything they have done wrong in the past was actually right, then they will not be punished.  They can therefore build upon that foundation in the future in order to obtain more ill-gotten gains.  In other words, there would be "no there there."

Republicans' attack on mainstream media has helped to keep their followers from seeing true reality.  Facts are distorted and even turned upside down.  Their people are held in a bubble of disinformation and lies.  They only trust those that spew the party line and distrust everyone else.  They are in a constant battle against the other side.  They see their opponents as slaves to those they distrust.  They believe that their skewed view of the world makes them stronger.

Republicans encourage tRump supporters to only consume distorted information from right-wing media.  No matter how many times tRump is caught red-handed and even on tape saying and doing despicable things, his followers find a way to either justify it or dismiss it as "fake."  Instead of accusing tRump of lying, they accuse everyone else.  Any attempts to discredit these false notions are met with anger and a closed mind.

Many people have observed that tRump and his enablers often seem to actually believe their own lies.  This is quite a useful skill for peddlers of falsehoods.  It is easier to convince others of your lies if you believe them yourself!

Republicans have allowed the human rights of many people to get trampled on.  Immigrant families have been torn apart and killed.  Journalists have been attacked and killed.  Unarmed black men and disabled persons have been shot and killed.  Innocent Americans have been exposed to the coronavirus and killed by careless anti-mask super spreaders.  Executions have been rushed through.  Victims of horrible crimes have had their perpetrators pardoned by tRump and set free.  Families have been starving and going homeless without relief from the pandemic.  The list is endless.

Republicans know full well that once people believe a lie, it is very difficult to discredit it.  The lies they have told have now come full circle and have trapped them and endangered them.  Even the Republicans who might consider backtracking are too afraid of retaliation to do so.  Instead, they continue the doublespeak.

tRump supporters simultaneously believe that he is honoring our Constitution while he is also calling upon them to dismantle it.  They believe he has helped black Americans more than any other president yet he is justified in attacking Black Lives Matter and ignoring racial injustice and the blatant murder of black citizens by police officers.  They believe he can honor the military while he makes up excuses for not attending ceremonies and not investigating bounties on the heads of American soldiers.  They also believe he is purging the world of pedophiles, rapists, and criminals when his best friends are pedophiles, rapists, and criminals and he himself has been accused of such behavior (not to mention his behavior toward his own daughter).

tRump's followers believe that he has selflessly given up his presidential salary in order to save the taxpayer money.  At the same time, they believe he is deserving of making millions of (illegal) dollars from holding office.  They believe that tRump is a billionaire, yet they also believe that he needs their small donations to help him win elections and fight his court battles.  They believe that no president has worked harder for America than tRump, yet they allow him to spend more time playing golf on the taxpayer's dime than any president in history.  They believe he has worked hard to protect Americans from the coronavirus, yet they allowed him to call it a hoax, hold super spreader events (during which he was the most protected), cure himself at great taxpayer expense with treatments not available to other Americans, infect much of the White House and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have no real plan to deal with the virus, take relief money for his and his friends' businesses, and try to minimize the death toll without memorializing the victims.

Pure power for Republicans means that they will say anything and do anything to maintain their position.  They want to maintain their status with the salary and all the perks that come with it.  Even more than that, they want to remain in good standing with their big money donors that have enabled them to become millionaires and live a lavish lifestyle they otherwise could not afford.  When taxpaying Americans cry for economic relief, Republicans give it to the rich claiming that it will trickle down...It never does!  The rich simply pocket the money, don't add any jobs, and allow the poor to continue to suffer.

tRump did not get into politics to save the world.  He saw it as a money making scheme...a way to get out of debt and avoid responsibility for criminal behavior.  Most of all, he saw it as a way to feed his enormous ego and feel the high of being the most powerful man in the world.

There is a reason why tRump admires dictators:  He wants to be one!  His favorite place to be is at a rally...no matter how many of his followers die from it.  He stands on a stage protected from the virus he let run rampant while his supporters huddle together in a mass of infectious disease playing Russian roulette with their own lives and the lives of others with whom they come in contact when they return home.

Republicans were blinded by the light of having Putin's "useful idiot" be stupid enough to do whatever they told him to do in order to please their secret big money donors.  Now that it has gone too far, they must not be let off the hook for the sake of (imm)unity.  Unity requires truth and responsibility.  There must be consequences for sedition, treason, inciting violence, and deceiving the American people to the point of destroying our democracy!

Just because Republicans were too blind to see that playing despicable and deadly games with tRump could only lead to self-destruction is no reason to spare them their just deserts.  In fact, most of them knew that they were violating their own principles and willingly selling their souls to the devil.  Some might have thought that surely a sense of decency, a concern for his reputation, or a sharp political savvy would prevent him from going too far.  They did not see that tRump was only in the game of politics for himself and himself alone.  He would do anything to win.  Anyone who stood in his way was the enemy.  He fiercely demanded absolute loyalty.  He gave none in return.  Friends were only friends for as long as they were useful to him.  Pardons were reserved for those who were willing to pay the price.  tRump leaves in his wake a huge caravan of people run over by the tRump bus, many labelled with catchy, derogatory nicknames and targets on their backs!

 REASONS TO IMPEACH tRUMP 

1. tRump planned, laid the foundation for, and incited an angry, murderous mob of domestic terrorists to carry out an attack on the United States Capitol to overthrow the government and threaten the United States Congress to prevent the certification of the free and fair election of the President of the United States.  This was a super spreader event that would turn lethal in more ways than one.

     - tRump lit the flame for this insurrection with a lie that he began telling even before he lost the election and has been fanning the flames ever since by falsely claiming that he won the election by a landslide.  (Note that when he lost the popular vote last time but won the exact same Electoral College votes as Biden has this time, he also claimed that he won by a landslide.)  He and republicans cry over the hurt feelings of tRump's 74 million voters, but they totally disregard the interests of Biden's 81 million voting majority.

     - tRump told the mob to fight and never give up.  His family, lawyers, staff, and Republican leaders told the crowd to do battle.  It was a rallying cry for "patriots" versus "traitors" to take back the Capitol.  It was blatantly endorsed by the leader of the free world and his partners in crime.  Of course, these "patriots" would go on to honor the American flag by using it to beat police officers over the head (as opposed to kneeling before it) to make their point.  They would also exercise their 2nd Amendment rights by attacking a police officer while yelling, "Kill him with his own gun!"

     - tRump and his enablers coordinated and encouraged the gathering of this mob.  They knew that it would only take a whisper from tRump to get the fire burning hot.  These white supremacists had been called to violent action many times by tRump in the past and were waiting with bated breath for another chance to show their strength.  They had "Stand Back and Stand By" t-shirts ready to wear the same day that tRump instructed them at the presidential debate!

     - tRump told the mob that he would join them but abandoned them while he retreated to safety instead. Some of them were even looking for him at the Capitol.  (But, of course, he would not risk being caught in the crossfire!)

     - These threats were well known on social media and encouraged by tRump.

     - The deadly plot had been rehearsed in Michigan at the state capitol and against the governor.  This was also encouraged by tRump.

     - tRump watched the terrorist attack on the United States Capitol on television with delight, not understanding why others did not seem to enjoy the spectacle.  (It was as "wild" as he had promised!)  While he entertained himself, Republicans hiding in the safe room mocked the mask-wearing Democrats as they gave them the coronavirus that their caring leader had unleashed on us all.

     - tRump refused to respond to pleas for the National Guard.  Mike Pence called in the National Guard while he hid from terrorists erecting a lynching stand with a noose and chanting "Hang Mike Pence!"  Pence's crime in their eyes consisted of not betraying his country by stealing the election for tRump.  Instead, he was simply counting the votes as the constitution dictates.

     - tRump would only send a message to the terrorists to stop the attack after hours of being urged to do so.  When he finally did, he sympathized with them and told them that they were special and that he loved them.

     - tRump would only concede the election and condemn the violence in an attempt to avoid impeachment.  Even then, he continued the election lie, knowingly continuing to fan the flames of insurrection.

2. We must prevent him from running for president again.  No one wants a president who once tried to blow up the Capitol, murder Congress, and lynch his own vice president just to get his way.  (What a temper tantrum that was!  Those traitors actually defecated and urinated in those sacred halls!)  pResident tRump can not be allowed to have access to the nuclear codes or national secrets again.

3. The American taxpayer must not be forced to pay $1 million dollars a year for this traitor's security expenses.  We have already paid millions for his golf games.  (We have even paid $3,000 a month since 2017 for a basement studio for the Secret Service to go to the bathroom while protecting tRump's daughter's family!)  Let's not even mention the millions of dollars that have disappeared from every budget, fund, account, campaign, and foundation that the tRumps have ever touched!

4. We must send a clear message to terrorists everywhere who would seek to destroy American democracy that it will not be tolerated.  We have never negotiated with or catered to or tolerated terrorists in the past, and we certainly do not need to begin now:  no exceptions.

5. We must let the free world know that we in no way endorse or condone this buffoon.  We must apologize for unleashing him onto the world and empowering him to wreak havoc.

6. We must apply at least some consequence to the orchestrator of the greatest death toll that America has ever seen.  This includes deaths due to coronavirus, white supremacists, terrorists, immigration policies, environmental crimes, war crimes, and hasty executions.

7. We must prevent him from having the power to pardon even one more vicious killer or ruthless criminal to simply repay an underhanded favor to a fellow criminal.

Election Fraud: tRump's Big Lie

Donald the Fake has been claiming election fraud and ballot switching since at least 2012!  This has always been his go-to lie to convince his followers that he has been robbed of something he wants (something his followers can identify with).

He laid the foundation for his baseless claims before his own second presidential election by making a win-win prediction for himself:  If he wins, the election was fair and he is the rightful winner.  If he loses, the election was rigged and he is the rightful winner.  Only to his mesmerized followers intoxicated on spiked Kool-Aid does this make perfect sense.

After setting up the expectation that voting by mail would result in massive vote fraud, he made history by systematically sabotaging the United States Postal Service.  Then he insisted that mailed-in votes must only begin to be counted on election day after the in-person votes were counted.  He knew that in-person votes would favor republicans since his followers were less likely to follow health guidelines and were more likely to believe his lies about mail-in voting.  

Once he won the in-person votes, he tried to stop the count to prevent the mailed ballots from being counted.  Then he claimed that the mailed ballots were being mysteriously "found" just because they were entered all at the same time after being counted.  Then he claimed that the ballots were being switched from republican to democrat, but only at the top of the ticket:  He claimed that only votes for him were affected but not the votes for other republicans.  Even after the votes were repeatedly validated by matching them to paper ballots, he still claimed fraud.  

Despite millions of dollars being spent on needless recounts, he persisted in these lies.  And, while he lost at least 60 election fraud cases in court, this self-proclaimed billionaire begged for donations from ordinary citizens in the middle of a pandemic that he is responsible for allowing to run rampant.  The fine print in the emails crying for donations revealed that tRump actually could pocket the money for whatever he wanted.

In tRump's world, manifestation works this way:  Make it up...In other words, lie!  When pushed on the lie, push back:  lie some more!  

If Putin or someone else wants to assist in the lie, encourage them.  But, remember to fake amnesia if anyone inquires! 

If anyone gets caught, throw them under the bus!  Even, if they were faithful, loyal, and extremely helpful to you, drop them like a hot potato!  And, don't forget to double down on the lie...endlessly!

Anyone who won't participate in the lie is the enemy:  Falsely accuse them...In other words, lie about them too!  

Don't forget to give them a catchy, childish nickname to make the lie really stick.  People are less likely to sympathize with a laughing stock.

Above all else, never concede!  When in doubt, sue!  Few people have the tolerance to fight endless lawsuits, especially with a few choice threats thrown in!

And, never pay people what you owe them...at least not with your own money!
